Summer 2025 wedding

« We wanted entertainment between the meal and the cake. Bingo won everyone over — uncles and teens alike — and our local prizes (bottles, show tickets) were a huge hit. »

« I now systematically offer it to couples looking for an alternative to tired games. €14 for the pass, 30 minutes of prep, and the couple doesn't touch a thing on the day — perfect combo. »

« We were worried the older relatives would think it was gimmicky. Turns out my grandma was the first to shout bingo, and the vibe was top-notch. »

Wedding bingo: everything you need to know

The ideal wedding entertainment: everyone plays (7 to 77), no pro host required, and fits naturally between dinner courses or at the start of the dancing. Here's the full guide.

Customizing cards in the couple's colors

BingoShow lets you fully customize cards and screen:

  • Colors — palette matched to the decor (champagne, blush, navy, sage)
  • Couple photos as watermark on the cards or full-page
  • Couple's names and wedding date at the top of the cards
  • Themed squares with anecdotes about the couple (custom bingo variant)
  • Wedding logo or monogram (if you have one) at the top

Variants: classic bingo or custom bingo about the couple?

Classic 75-number bingo (5×5 cards with BINGO letters): simple, neutral, works for every audience. Guests mark the drawn numbers. Fast format (5–10 min per round). Ideal if you want 3–4 short rounds.

Custom couple bingo (5×5 cards with anecdotes): squares are statements about the couple (“they met in X”, “he collects vinyl”, “she's scared of spiders”). Guests mark what they know to be true. More emotionally engaging, builds connection between guests (sharing anecdotes). See also our hen bingo page which uses the same idea.

Prize ideas for a wedding bingo

Recommended budget: €40–€100 total depending on guest count. The golden rule: small fun prizes, no crushing hierarchy. Ideas:

  • Small prizes (lines): premium chocolates, mini champagne bottle, sugared almonds, photo-postcard book
  • Mid prizes: bottle of the wedding wine, €30–€50 gift voucher, potted plant
  • Main prize (full house): an invite to the couple's first wedding anniversary (the couple hosts the winner), one-night stay, gourmet basket
  • Symbolic prizes: “official title of best friend of the groom”, framed memory photo

Zero install: on the venue's TV

Most reception venues have a smart TV or projector available. The BingoShow room screen opens in any browser — just open the URL on the TV via Chromecast, Apple TV, or a plain HDMI cable from a laptop. Test it a day ahead. No app, no exotic connectors.

FAQ

Your questions, answered

When should the bingo slot into the evening?
The sweet spot: between dessert and the first dance. Everyone is seated and done eating, energy climbs right before the dancing. Plan for 25 to 40 minutes for a full session.
We have a wedding theme. Can the bingo match the decor?
Yes — the cards pick up your colors, a font close to your invitation suite, and can include a couple photo or thematic detail. The room screen follows the same brand.
What if our older guests aren't comfortable with tech?
That's exactly why paper cards exist: uncles and grandparents play the classic way, and younger guests can open their card on their phone if they prefer. Frictionless hybrid.
How do we avoid it feeling like a “senior bingo”?
It all comes down to prizes and tone. Use fun, offbeat prizes (show tickets, dinner, a dare on the dance floor) and a host who calls numbers with humor. That's what turns a classic activity into a memorable moment.
How many cards should we plan for?
One card per guest (sometimes 2 for keen players). For 80 guests, plan for 100 cards. The 30-day pass at €14 covers up to 500.
Can the wedding planner handle everything?
Of course — give them access, there's even a co-host mode to share the controls. The couple doesn't have to lift a finger on the day.
